A-D
Cancelled
When a scheduled journey is fully removed from operation and does not run at all it is referred to as cancelled. Refer to this FAQ page for more detail on how cancellations are calculated.
Completed
Completed journeys are those where both the first and last stop have been observed or detected.
Delta
Delta displays the time difference between scheduled and actual travel times.
E-K
Heartbeat
A heartbeat is a regular signal or data point sent by onboard vehicle equipment which identifies a vehicle’s location and current task.
Incomplete
Incomplete journeys are those where the first and/or last stop of a journey has not been observed or detected.
L-O
Longer running times
Refer to Terminology | Shorter-and-longer-running-times
Matched
Matched trips are those where at least one vehicle heartbeat has been observed and associated with the corresponding scheduled trip.
No data
No data could indicate either missing information, that a service is not available or an error in data collection. For more information click here.
More specifically, depending on the context, "no data" could indicate:
Missing Information: When data about a vehicle, stop, route, or schedule is unavailable, either due to a technical issue or incomplete data collection.
Service Not Available: It may indicate that a specific transport service or route is not operating at a given time, or that no records exist for a particular event (e.g., no bus is currently running on that route).
Error or Failure in Data Collection: If a system or device fails to capture or transmit data (e.g., a vehicle's GPS stops sending location updates), it might result in "no data" being displayed.
No scheduled trips
No scheduled trips will be shown in the product when a time period is selected in which the operator does not run any services or trips.
Not available (N/A)
N/A (or Not Applicable) will appear in the product where there is a calculation that is not applicable in the given context. For example, dwell time is not measured on the last stop. In the event that any segment of the journey lacks available data, it will be marked with the designation '---' to indicate its absence.
Not detected
Not detected refers to when a vehicle was not “seen” or observed at a timing point or stop.
Not matched
Not matched could indicate that either no heartbeats for a vehicle were observed for a scheduled trip or an observed trip was not scheduled.
Not observed
Not observed or not detected refers to when a vehicle is not "seen" at a timing point or stop.
P-S
Part-cancelled
A scheduled journey that runs only a portion of its intended route before stopping, leaving the remaining part of the journey unserved is referred to as part-cancelled.
Shorter and longer running times
Shorter and longer running times refer to deviations in the time it takes for a vehicle to complete its journey along a route, or segment of, compared to the scheduled, or expected time.
